Manali tour package from Kangra by car
Kangra to Manali is about 205 km and around six hours through Mandi, Pandoh and Kullu — a full driving day, so we start before dawn. Three to four days gives you Solang, the Atal Tunnel, Hadimba and Old Manali without rushing any of them. It runs all year. About the trip
Where the mountains begin.
Manali is the perennial favourite — the Beas rushing through town, deodar forest on the slopes, and big snow within reach. We take the long highway off your shoulders so you arrive rested and ready to explore.
Solang Valley and the Atal Tunnel open up snow and the road to Lahaul; the ancient Hadimba and Manu temples, the hot springs at Vashisht and the cafés of Old Manali fill the gentler days.
How it runs from here: the 205 km in is a full day, so we leave Kangra early and give you the afternoon rather than arriving at dusk. Solang and the tunnel go on their own day and start early, because the queue at the tunnel mouth and the Solang parking both build sharply after nine. Manali town is walkable once you are there; the Mall is pedestrian in the evenings, so we drop and collect rather than trying to park in it.

Good to know
Manali — questions travellers ask
How long is the drive from Kangra to Manali?
About 205 km and roughly six hours, via Palampur, Baijnath, Mandi and Kullu. It is a full day's driving but a good one, and the Mandi–Kullu stretch along the Beas is the best of it. We usually leave early so you arrive with the afternoon still ahead of you.
Will we see snow, and when?
Solang usually holds snow from late December through March, and the Rohtang side longer. Outside winter, the reliable snow is through the Atal Tunnel on the Lahaul side, where patches last well into spring. In July and August there is no snow to speak of at Solang, whatever the photographs on booking sites suggest.
Do we need a permit for Rohtang Pass?
Yes — Rohtang requires an online permit with a daily vehicle quota, and it is closed for part of the year. The Atal Tunnel to Sissu needs no permit and is open far more of the time, which is why we usually route people that way. If Rohtang matters to you, tell us early so we can try for the permit on your dates.
Is three days enough for Manali?
Three days works if one is Solang and the tunnel and one is the town and temples, with the drive at each end. Four is better and is what most families end up wanting. If you also want Kullu properly, look at the Kullu and Manali tour instead.
Can you take us as far as Sissu or Koksar?
Yes. Through the Atal Tunnel it is a straightforward run to Sissu and the waterfall, and that is a comfortable half-day from Manali. Beyond that you are into Lahaul proper, which is the Keylong and Darcha trip rather than a Manali day out.
What is the best time to visit Manali?
All year, but differently. March to June is the classic season; October and November are clearest and quietest; December to February is snow, with the Atal Tunnel open and Solang busy. July to September the Beas valley road is the least reliable stretch in the state, so we watch it.
Our price promise
The lowest rate you’ll find for this trip — or we beat it.
We don’t publish a rate card, because an honest fare depends on your dates, your group and the road. What we do promise: ask us before you book anywhere, and if you’re already holding a written quote for the same car, the same route and the same all-in inclusions, send us the screenshot. We’ll beat it — and on the rare trip where we honestly can’t, we’ll tell you straight instead of wasting your day.
