Monsoon Rajasthan — Udaipur & Mount Abu
Rajasthan is at its greenest in the monsoon — Udaipur’s brimming lakes, the Aravalli hill station of Mount Abu, Ranakpur and the Kumbhalgarh wall, by private car with your own driver.
Rajasthan · by private car & driver
Right now, in the monsoon, Rajasthan is the smart trip: Udaipur’s lakes are full, the Aravallis are green and the forts are empty, while the hill roads north of us are unreliable. We drive the whole state — one car, the same driver from your doorstep, one honest all-in fare.
Why now
Everyone books Rajasthan for the winter and writes off the rains. But July to September is when Lake Pichola brims back to the steps, waterfalls run in the Aravallis, Mount Abu is cool and green, and you can stand in Kumbhalgarh’s ramparts almost alone. The rain comes in bursts and clears; the heat that makes this state hard in May is gone.
It is also the honest answer for anyone whose Himachal plan is being rained off. We drive both — see our Himachal planning guide for that side — and in these particular weeks the plains simply deliver more. Tell us your dates and we will say which we would book ourselves.
What the rains change
Pick your route
Each is a starting point, rebuilt around your days, your group and your budget — not a fixed template.
Rajasthan is at its greenest in the monsoon — Udaipur’s brimming lakes, the Aravalli hill station of Mount Abu, Ranakpur and the Kumbhalgarh wall, by private car with your own driver.
A grand private-car circuit from Kangra to Rajasthan — Jaipur's forts, holy Pushkar, lake-city Udaipur, blue Jodhpur and the golden dunes of Jaisalmer.
The short Rajasthan trip — Jaipur’s Amber Fort and pink bazaars, the Ajmer Dargah and the Brahma temple and ghats of Pushkar, by private car with your own driver.
The Thar circuit by private car — Mehrangarh above blue Jodhpur, the living golden fort of Jaisalmer, the Sam sand dunes and a night under the desert sky.
Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — the classic Golden Triangle — by private car from Kangra, with the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort and the capital's monuments.
Want somewhere that isn’t listed — Ranthambore, Bikaner, Shekhawati, Chittorgarh or Bharatpur? We plan those too. See the rest of our tour packages for the Himachal and Uttarakhand side.
Timing it right
Udaipur’s lakes fill, the Aravallis around Kumbhalgarh and Mount Abu turn green and waterfalls run. Warm but not brutal, and the forts are near-empty. The best Rajasthan months when Himachal’s hill roads are washing out.
Clear, cool days and cold desert nights — the right window for Jaisalmer, the Sam dunes, Jodhpur and the full Jaipur-to-Jaisalmer circuit. Peak season, so cars and rooms want booking a little ahead.
The desert west hits 45°C and we would not send a family there. Mount Abu and the hill-side of Udaipur still work, and the crowds and rates drop. This is when we send most travellers to Himachal instead.
Where the trip begins
Most of our Rajasthan trips start at a doorstep in Kangra, Dharamshala or McLeodganj and run the whole way south with one car and one driver, so your luggage never changes hands. If you are flying in, we meet you at Delhi, Chandigarh or Jaipur instead and start from there — it saves two long driving days on either end.
Coming up to Himachal afterwards? We run the same car back — see our Kangra to Delhi and Kangra to Chandigarh runs, or the 6 Devi Darshan yatra if you want the temples on the same trip.
In every Rajasthan fare
Confirm the price first
Ask us for the all-in fare before you book anywhere. If you already hold a written quote for the same car, same route and the same inclusions, send us the screenshot — we’ll try to beat it, and if we honestly can’t, we’ll tell you straight instead of wasting your day.
WhatsApp your dates, group and route. You get one all-in fare — car, driver, fuel, tolls, parking and permits — usually within the hour.
Check it against any other operator or app. Compare like for like: the same car, the same days and everything included, not a headline figure with extras added later.
Send us the lower written quote and we’ll do our best to beat it. Booking is straight with the owner-drivers, so there is no agent commission built into our number.

We had an amazing Himachal trip and credit goes to Kapil Bhaiya for driving safely, took good care of us and showed some stunning places. Grateful and thank him for being a part of the beautiful memories we made during the trip. I will always book him for future holidays.
Recently visited Himachal and had an amazing experience with Baglamukhi Travels! We met Sahil ji there, who was our driver throughout the trip. He is an exceptionally good, polite, and well-behaved person. His driving skills are excellent, and he made our journey very safe and comfortable. Highly recommend Baglamukhi Travels and especially Sahil ji for anyone planning a trip to Himachal!
A great driver can make a trip truly unforgettable, and Sahil Ji did exactly that for us. From the beginning to the end of our journey, he was professional, polite, punctual, and extremely helpful. Whether it was the winding mountain roads or long-distance drives, he handled every route with confidence and ensured our safety at all times… If you’re planning a mountain trip, I highly recommend Sahil Ji. Before you book
For the south and east of the state — Udaipur, Mount Abu, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Chittorgarh — the monsoon is genuinely one of the best times. July to September fills the lakes, greens the Aravallis, brings the temperature down and empties the forts of crowds. Rain usually comes in short bursts rather than all day. The far-western desert around Jaisalmer stays humid and is better kept for October to March.
Because July to September is exactly when Himachal is least reliable — landslides, blocked hill roads and views lost in cloud — while Rajasthan in the same weeks is green, open and quiet. We drive both regions from Kangra, so we will tell you honestly which suits your dates rather than sell you the trip that is going to disappoint.
A short Jaipur, Ajmer and Pushkar trip works in five to six days from Kangra. Udaipur with Mount Abu and Kumbhalgarh takes seven to eight, the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer desert circuit the same, and the full loop from Jaipur through Pushkar, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer runs 11 to 13 days. Joining us at Delhi or Jaipur saves two driving days on any of them.
Yes. If you are flying or taking a train into Delhi, Chandigarh or Jaipur, we meet you at the airport or station and start the tour there, and we can drop you back at the end or drive you on to Himachal. The itinerary and the pace stay the same; you simply skip the two long days from the hills.
One all-in fare covers the car, the driver, fuel, tolls, parking and state-border permits for the whole trip. Hotels, your meals and monument entry tickets stay your own choice, so you keep control of the budget. We confirm the exact fare on WhatsApp before you travel — no advance, and nothing added at the end.
It depends on the days, the car and how far west you go, so we quote one real all-in figure rather than a sticker price. Outstation driving is from ₹22/km in an Innova Crysta. Send your dates and group and we send the number, usually within the hour — and if you already hold a cheaper written quote for the same trip, send it and we will try to beat it.
The Toyota Innova Crysta is our usual choice for this route — seven seats, comfortable for elders and easy with a week of luggage. The Maruti Ertiga suits a smaller family, a sedan up to four, and a Force Traveller (12+1 or 17+1) takes a bigger group. All air-conditioned, on commercial tourist-taxi permits valid for interstate travel.
Yes, and it often is. Pilgrims finishing the Kangra-valley Devi Darshan with us frequently continue to Ajmer and Pushkar; others do Rajasthan first and come back up into the hills. Because the same car and the same driver run the whole thing, joining two trips costs the extra days, not a second booking.
Ready when you are
Tell us how many days you have and where you’re starting from. Reply usually within the hour, no advance and no agents.
Now booking July — just the two of us driving. Tell us your dates.
Got a lower quote from someone else? Send it across — we’ll try to beat it.
