Parvati Valley and Kasol tour from Kangra

Kasol is about 200 km from Kangra, six and a half hours through Mandi and Bhuntar, and two to three days covers the valley — Manikaran's hot springs and gurudwara, Kasol itself, and Tosh. Tosh is the one place we cannot drive to the door; the last kilometre is uphill on foot. April to October is the season. Ask Kapil on +91 98053 05643 or Sahil on +91 78075 42573.

About the trip

Riverside calm and mountain trails.

The Parvati valley is the laid-back heart of Himachal's backpacker country — pine forest, a loud green river, and little villages strung along it. Kasol is the base, full of cafés and easy riverside walks.

Manikaran's gurudwara and sulphur hot springs draw pilgrims and travellers alike, while Tosh, Kalga and the climb to Malana reward anyone who wants to wander a little further.

How it runs from here: the drive is six to seven hours and the last stretch from Bhuntar up the valley is narrow, single-track in places and slow when the season is busy — so we plan for an afternoon arrival, not a morning one. Kasol is the base because the car can reach it; Tosh, Kalga and Malana all mean leaving the vehicle at a road-head and walking up. We say so plainly rather than letting people expect a door-to-door drop.

Good to know

Parvati Valley — questions travellers ask

How far is Kasol from Kangra?

Around 220 km and six to seven hours, via Mandi, Bhuntar and then up the Parvati valley. The last stretch from Bhuntar is narrow and slow, particularly in season, so we plan for the afternoon rather than promising an early arrival.

What is Manikaran, and can anyone visit?

A gurudwara and temple complex built over natural sulphur hot springs on the Parvati river, sacred to both Sikhs and Hindus. Anyone may visit; cover your head and remove your shoes. The langar is famously cooked in the hot spring itself. The stone underfoot near the springs gets genuinely hot, so watch your step.

Can we walk to Malana?

The road goes as far as the Malana dam, and from there it is a steep climb of an hour and a half or so. Malana runs by its own strict customs — visitors are asked not to touch people, buildings or objects in the village, and that is taken seriously. Go with a local guide, which we can arrange, and go respectfully or not at all.

When should we visit the Parvati valley?

April to June and September to October. The monsoon brings landslides on the Bhuntar–Kasol road and the river becomes dangerous; the valley has seen flash floods. Winter is quiet and cold, with Tosh and the upper villages sometimes cut off by snow.

Is it a good trip for families?

Kasol, Manikaran and the Chalal walk are fine for families and elders. The higher villages — Tosh, Kalga, Malana — mean steep walking from where the car stops. It is worth being plain about the valley's reputation for drugs: it is real, it is mostly confined to certain cafés and hostels, and it is easily avoided.

Our price promise

The lowest rate you’ll find for this trip — or we beat it.

We don’t publish a rate card, because an honest fare depends on your dates, your group and the road. What we do promise: ask us before you book anywhere, and if you’re already holding a written quote for the same car, the same route and the same all-in inclusions, send us the screenshot. We’ll beat it — and on the rare trip where we honestly can’t, we’ll tell you straight instead of wasting your day.

  1. 01

    Tell us the plan

WhatsApp your dates, your group and where you want to go. You get one all-in fare — car, driver, fuel, tolls, parking and permits — usually within the hour.

  2. 02

    Compare it openly

Check it against any operator or app you like. Compare like for like: the same car, the same days, everything included — not a headline figure with extras added on later.

  3. 03

    We beat it

Send us the lower written quote and we’ll beat it. You book the owner-drivers direct, so there is no agent commission sitting inside our number to begin with.
