Hotel booking.
Nearly every traveller asks the same question after the car is settled: where should we stay? Having driven this valley since 2018 we know which McLeodganj hotels are a real walk from the square and which claim to be, which Palampur guesthouses are worth the extra fifteen minutes, and which places do not suit elders because of the stairs. That is local knowledge, not a listing page.
How it works is simple. Tell us your dates, your group and your budget, and we suggest a shortlist we would genuinely put our own families in. If you want, we speak to the property and hold the rooms for you. You settle with the hotel directly at their own rate — we do not add a booking fee or a mark-up on the room.
We say plainly what we are: your driver, arranging rooms as a courtesy because it makes your trip work better. For a large group or a wedding party we can do the whole block, and for a simple two-night stop we are just as happy to point you at a place and let you book it yourself.

Where, then what
In McLeodganj the difference between the square and upper Bhagsu is a steep walk with luggage. In Dalhousie the town spreads along a ridge. We pick for the walk, not just the room.

Peak dates
Navratri, the summer season and Himachal’s long weekends fill the good places early. If your dates are one of those, ask sooner rather than later.
Near the temples
For a Devi Darshan with elders, staying near the shrine rather than in the nearest town can save an hour of driving each morning. We will say when it is worth it.

Hotel booking — questions we get
Do you charge for booking a hotel?
No. We suggest places and can hold the rooms for you, but you pay the hotel directly at their own rate. We do not add a booking fee or a commission on top.
Do you own any hotels?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. We are a taxi and travel company. We recommend properties we have driven guests to for years and know to be decent — that is the whole basis of it.
Can you arrange rooms for a big group or a wedding party?
Yes. Tell us the headcount and the dates and we can work with a property on a room block, and plan the cars around the same timings.
Should we stay in Dharamshala or McLeodganj?
It depends on what you want. McLeodganj puts you in the middle of the cafes and the walks but is busier and dearer; Dharamshala is quieter and better value, ten minutes down the hill, and fine if you have a car with you all day. We will tell you which fits your group.
