Una is the district town at the southern edge of Himachal where the hills give out onto the Punjab plain, and it is a real transport hub — a railhead, a busy bus stand, and the road that everyone coming from Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur takes to get up into the state.

Chintpurni is the big draw, about 50 km away, and darshan runs from Una station are constant — particularly during Navratri, when the queues make an early start worth the trouble. Amb Andaura, with the Vande Bharat, is closer still.

The rest is straightforward: getting people up to the Kangra valley, or out to Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab. Say plainly what we are (a Kangra firm, two and a half hours north), so Una trips are pre-booked. Give us the time and the car will be there.

Una is a pre-booked town for us — the cars start from Kangra, so tell us the night before and the driver is with you at the hour you asked for.

    Chintpurni Devi

    Thirty minutes up the ridge. Before eight on a weekday you walk straight in; on a Navratri weekend it is a different place entirely.

    Past the Vande Bharat railhead — the reason a lot of Delhi pilgrims are on this road at all.

  3. Midday

    Jwala Ji

    An hour north, the natural flames. Chintpurni and Jwala Ji together are the standard two-temple day from Una.

    Or south to Naina Devi

    The other direction entirely: the Shakti Peetha above Govind Sagar, about two hours from Una and often paired with Anandpur Sahib.

Two stations again

Una has its own railway station and Amb Andaura is thirty minutes away. The Vande Bharat uses Amb Andaura. Read the ticket.

The plains are close

Chandigarh is about three hours and Delhi seven. Una is where the hills stop, which makes it a natural handover point.

How far is Chintpurni from Una by taxi?

About 50 km, roughly an hour and a half on the hill road. For a quiet darshan we suggest leaving Una early, especially during Navratri.

Can you pick us up from Una railway station?

Yes, pre-booked. We track the train and the driver waits at the station however late it runs. Amb Andaura, about 25 km away, works the same way for the Vande Bharat.

Do you have cars stationed in Una?

No. Our cars are in Kangra, about two and a half hours north, so Una trips are pre-booked and the car sets off in time to reach you. That is why we ask for notice rather than promising a car in ten minutes.
