Our cars stand near the New Bus Stand, both owners live in the district, and a good half of our work never leaves it — school and college runs, a car to Tanda and back for a family with someone in hospital, an early drive to Gaggal for the Delhi flight, shopping trips into Dharamshala, a wedding party moving between venues.

Because we are local you get things an out-of-town operator cannot give you: a driver who knows which link road is blocked after rain, who can be at your gate in fifteen minutes, and who you will see again around town.

A full day, from your door

This is our own town, so this day starts whenever you want it to, including before dawn, which is the right time for the temples.

  1. Early

    Brajeshwari Devi

    The Kangra Devi temple in the old town, one of the six. Before eight it is quiet and you walk straight in; by ten on a weekend you will not.

  2. Morning

    Kangra Fort

    The Katoch fort above the confluence of the Banganga and Manjhi. Allow an hour and a half. It is a proper climb around the ramparts, not a viewpoint.

  3. Midday

    Masroor rock temples

    Out south-west of town, and the thing people miss. Fifteen temples carved out of a single sandstone ridge in the eighth century, usually with nobody else there.

  4. Afternoon

    Jwala Ji

    The eternal flames, an hour south. If the fort has worn the group out, this is the easy option — the temple is at road level.

    Back home

    Or carry on to Chamunda for the evening aarti, which adds about ninety minutes.

Good to know locally

Two Kangra stations

Kangra Mandir is the narrow-gauge toy-train halt in town; Nurpur Road and Amb Andaura are the broad-gauge railheads. They serve completely different trains — check the ticket.

Fort parking

The car park is below the fort and the approach is on foot up a ramp. It is manageable for most people but not for a wheelchair.

Tanda

The medical college is ten minutes from town and we run to it around the clock. Give us the department, not just "Tanda" — the campus is large.

Near the New Bus Stand in Kangra town. That is where the cars stand and where both owners live, so a Kangra pickup usually means we are with you within fifteen minutes.

Do you do short local trips inside Kangra, or only long tours?

Both, and short local work is a large part of what we do — a run to Tanda, a drop at Gaggal, an errand into Dharamshala, a school pickup. There is no minimum trip.

Can I get a taxi in Kangra late at night or before dawn?

Yes. We run 24×7 and pre-dawn airport drops and midnight station pickups are ordinary work for us. Message the night before and the car will be at your door.
