Since the Vande Bharat started running, Amb Andaura has become the fastest way into the Kangra valley from Delhi — and the single most common thing that goes wrong with the journey is the last leg. The station sits in Una district with little onward transport, the trains arrive at hours when there is nothing waiting, and people find themselves negotiating on the station road with luggage and children.

Arriving at Amb in the morning lets the transfer absorb Chintpurni and Jwala Ji. An evening arrival is just a transfer.
