Chandigarh to the Devi Darshan.

Chandigarh is the natural gateway to the Himachal Devi Darshan, and the route works in your favour: Naina Devi sits right on the way up near Anandpur Sahib, so the very first darshan comes before you have even reached the valley. From there the road runs to Chintpurni in Una, then up to Jwala Ji, Baglamukhi, Brajeshwari in Kangra town and Chamunda below the Dhauladhar.

Most families from the Tricity take the yatra over two unhurried days with a night halt near Chintpurni or Kangra — but a fast one-day round is possible if you start before dawn. Two days is the comfortable version. It can be squeezed into one very long day if you must — leaving Chandigarh around three in the morning and getting back after midnight — and we will do it, but we would not recommend it for anyone elderly.

It stands directly on your road into Himachal. Leaving it until last would mean driving back past it, which costs about three hours for no reason.
