Ludhiana sits in the middle of Punjab, so the first day is a genuine drive before the first darshan. Two days is right; one is not.

Worth knowing

Anandpur Sahib on the way

It is directly on your road and Virasat-e-Khalsa is worth the hour. Plenty of families going for the Devi Darshan stop there on the first morning.

Making it three

A night in the Kangra valley on the end lets you see Dharamshala and McLeodganj without adding any real driving. Most people who do it say it was the best decision of the trip.

Doorstep, both ends
