It is directly on your road and Virasat-e-Khalsa is worth the hour. Plenty of families going for the Devi Darshan stop there on the first morning.

A night in the Kangra valley on the end lets you see Dharamshala and McLeodganj without adding any real driving. Most people who do it say it was the best decision of the trip.
