    Drop at Gandhi Chowk, Subhash Chowk or your hotel. The town is spread along a ridge, so the address matters.

Arriving in the afternoon

Four hours means a morning start lands you with the evening free — Gandhi Chowk, the Mall walk and St. John’s church are all within strolling distance of each other.

Khajjiar the next day

The meadow is 23 km on through Kalatop forest, about 45 minutes. It is a day trip from Dalhousie rather than something to attempt on arrival day.

Winter

January and February can put snow on the Chowari climb. We watch it and start earlier when it has, and we will tell you honestly if the road is not worth attempting.
