Of all the Devi shrines, Chintpurni is the one the Vande Bharat has genuinely changed. It is only forty-five minutes from Amb Andaura, which means a family can leave Delhi in the morning, have darshan the same afternoon and be back on a train — a trip that used to take two days.

We meet the train and drive straight up. The driver waits at the temple while you are inside, so you are not rushing darshan to hold on to a car, and you come back to the same vehicle and the same person.
