How we drive it.

Two hours from the western gate of the district to the Dhauladhar, with the last half hour climbing out of the valley floor into Dharamshala.

Hospital appointments account for a lot of it — the Zonal Hospital and Tanda both draw people in from the Nurpur side — along with office and college trips, and visitors staying at Nurpur who want a day in McLeodganj.

If you are coming off a train at Pathankot, we will usually pick you up there instead and run the whole thing in one car; it is only forty minutes further west and saves you a change.
