How we drive it

Baijnath’s stone Shiva temple has stood since the 13th century, one of the oldest living shrines in the Kangra valley, and the drive to it is half the pleasure — the tea-garden road past Palampur with the Dhauladhar close on your left the whole way. It is an easy hour and a half from Kangra.

Most guests pair Baijnath with Palampur’s tea estates or carry on the short distance to the Bir Billing paragliding meadow. Tell us whether you want a straight darshan or a fuller day, and we set the halts (Neugal Khad, the tea factory, the Bir launch site) around your pace.
