About this run

How we drive it

Katra is the base town for the Mata Vaishno Devi yatra, and many of our guests pair the Himachal Devi Darshan with Vaishno Devi in one journey. From Kangra the road drops to Pathankot in about two and a half hours, then runs north through Jammu to Katra — a full but comfortable day in a car built for the long haul.

We do straight one-way drops for pilgrims travelling on, and round trips where the same car and driver wait through your yatra and bring you home.

The longest single-day run we do regularly. Out at Pathankot, across to Jammu, then up to Katra for the Vaishno Devi climb.

Rest before you climb

The darshan is a 13 km climb from Katra and it is not something to start after a full day in a car. Arrive, sleep, climb the next morning.

All three exist and we help arrange whichever suits your group. Tell us early — the helicopter slots in particular go well in advance.

Yatra registration

You need an RFID yatra slip before starting the climb, issued at Katra. We drop you at the counter rather than leaving you to find it.

A full day on the road, via Pathankot and Jammu. We give you the timing for your own start point when you book. Most pilgrims leave early so they reach Katra with the evening to settle before the yatra.
