The four abodes, one steady pilgrimage.
The Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — is the great Himalayan pilgrimage of Uttarakhand, the source-shrines of the Yamuna and Ganga and the mountain seats of Shiva and Vishnu. It is a long, high yatra, and the difference a calm driver and a well-planned route make is enormous.
We drive you the whole circuit from Kangra, timing the trek days for Yamunotri and Kedarnath, arranging pony, palki or the Kedarnath helicopter where it helps, and keeping the night halts at Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi and Badrinath comfortable. The order follows tradition — Yamunotri first, Badrinath last.

Day 1 — Day 11- D1
Kangra to Haridwar
The drive down to the plains and along to Haridwar; the evening Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri.

Haridwar to Barkot
Up through Mussoorie and Kempty into the Yamuna valley; night halt at Barkot.

Yamunotri
Drive to Janki Chatti, then the 6 km trek (pony or palki available) to Yamunotri temple and the hot springs; back to Barkot.

Barkot to Uttarkashi
Along the valley to Uttarkashi; the Vishwanath temple in the evening.

Gangotri
Up the Bhagirathi past Gangnani and Harsil to Gangotri for darshan; return to Uttarkashi.

Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
The long, scenic road across to the Mandakini valley; night at Guptkashi.

Kedarnath
Drive to Sonprayag and Gaurikund, then the 16 km trek (pony or helicopter available) up to Kedarnath; darshan and night near the shrine.

Kedarnath to Guptkashi
Down the trail and back to Guptkashi, resting the legs for the road to Badrinath.

Guptkashi to Badrinath
Via Joshimath and the Vishnuprayag confluence to Badrinath; evening aarti at the temple.

Badrinath & Mana
Morning darshan, the Tapt Kund springs, and Mana — the last village before Tibet, with Vyas Gufa and Bhim Pul; start back toward Rudraprayag.

Return to Kangra
The long homeward drive through the Ganga valley and the plains, back to the Dhauladhar.

How many days does the Char Dham Yatra take from Himachal?
By road from Kangra the full Char Dham — Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath — takes about 11 to 12 days, including the drive each way and the trek days at Yamunotri and Kedarnath. A Do Dham (Kedarnath and Badrinath only) can be done in 7 to 8 days. We fix the length to your dates and stamina.
How difficult are the Kedarnath and Yamunotri treks?
Yamunotri is about 6 km each way and Kedarnath about 16 km, both uphill at altitude. Ponies, palki (dandi) and porters are available at both, and a helicopter runs to Kedarnath from Phata or Sersi. We arrange whichever suits your group and keep the pace easy — there is no rush on a yatra.
When does Char Dham open, and when should we go?
The shrines open around late April or early May (Akshaya Tritiya) and close around Diwali, when winter snow shuts the high passes. The best windows are May to mid-June and September to mid-October; the monsoon months of July and August bring landslide risk, so we watch the road advisories and plan accordingly.
Do you help with the yatra registration and helicopter booking?
Yes. Uttarakhand requires a Char Dham registration for every pilgrim, and we guide you through it. We also help arrange the Kedarnath helicopter, ponies and palki, and pick sensible night halts at Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi and Badrinath. You travel; we handle the road logistics.
