Bilaspur sits on the edge of Govind Sagar, on the main road between Chandigarh and Manali — which means almost everyone driving into central Himachal from the plains passes through it.

Naina Devi, about 25 km above the town, is the reason most of our Bilaspur work exists. It is the gateway shrine of the six-temple Devi Darshan circuit and the first stop for families coming up from Punjab and Chandigarh, so we are often collecting a group here at the start of a two-day yatra.

AIIMS Bilaspur has changed the town considerably, and hospital transport is now a real part of what people ask for — patients and attendants coming in from across Himachal, often at difficult hours. And because the Manali highway runs through, one-way transfers between the plains and Kullu-Manali are a steady booking.
