Nagrota Bagwan is half an hour east of us on the Palampur road — close enough that we are one of the quickest cars anyone here can call.

Chamunda Devi is the landmark, about ten kilometres up the side road, and darshan runs are constant: early morning for a quiet temple, or a stop folded into a longer valley day. Tanda Medical College is close on the other side, so hospital work is steady too.

For the rest it is ordinary local transport done properly — Gaggal for flights, Dharamshala for the day, Palampur and Baijnath eastward, and the long outstation drives when someone needs to get to Chandigarh or Delhi without changing buses twice.
